It is really hard to take a tornado warning seriously while your son is seriously calling it a tomato warning.
It is even harder to take a tornado warning seriously when your daughter is more afraid of coyotes getting in the house - and you realize the coyote is the siren that keeps going off to warn you of the tornado.
My prayers go out to the people of Joplin tonight and for the rest of the spring-ravaged South. I think we're all ready for some summer around here.

Oh goodness, the tomato and coyote stories made me laugh! I was also reminded our our hiding in the basement if there was any loud wind. These storms can be very scary. I hope that the weather will calm down very soon.
I just started out my comment saying "oh goodness" and then I looked up and saw that was how you started your comment and I thought I better refrain. Anyway - poor you for having an older sister who spread her paranoia. If only there weren't aliens and ghosts in the basement, hiding from tornados would have been so much more comfortable.
