A Laugh

Today while my other two napped my boy who loves animals planned out a game where he would be a lizard while I was the snake that wanted to catch him and eat him. At the same time as the scene was being set my back completely gave out on me. Lately I've been getting random twinges in my lower back when I walk around, but at that moment I was attacked by contractions of back pain even when I sat down in a chair. I told him I was hurting and wouldn't be able to play. He came over looking very sympathetic, patted my shoulders lovingly and said, "That's ok Mom." I was relieved and a little suprised at his empathy, and then he finished, "You can just attack me while you sit on the floor." And then he ran away from the snake he imagined me to be screaming, "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!" A laugh, it really does make things better.

Haaaa haaa! You've got to love a kid's imagination. He is so funny. I'm surprised he let you be the predator this time. Take it easy, and I hope your back feels better soon!
