Vacationland

I thought I'd check in from vacationland on my iPhone, just because I am that hip and super-modern. Sooooo hip and soooo super modern.

So far, so good. Not that we haven't had our fair share of are-we-there-yets and our I-want-to-go-homes and our Little Linebacker two year old expressions of disgruntlement, but it's been awfully good. It's that buzz of excitement that comes with the not being at home that's propelled us into general happydom. Sometimes a family needs a healthy dose of different.

Today we went to an amazingly, stupendously, wonderfully cool aquarium. It made my soul soar. Not that I'm not fond of hyperbole, but honestly, I kept getting the warm-blood, quick heart beat, wide smile feeling. We got to touch sting rays, sharks, sturgeons and, for the heck of it I guess, a snake. The tanks were huge and full of such a large variety of marine life that we could have sat and watched the colors and movement like a campfire all afternoon. And all of this life was housed in a building that flowed like water with an interior of rustic wood and faux pocked and rounded rock that left a gal feeling not too far from nature herself. I was quite proud of human ingenuity and restless for a good, long, long, genuine howdy-do with nature herself. Well - I better get back to vacationing. For our family that means T.V. before bed. Ooohh-la-la.

*pictures to come in a few days. I'm not so hip or so super modern that I can get pictures off my iPhone yet.

Sounds like fun! Vacations are the best. The thought of them is what keeps me going during the winter months. :) Enjoy every minute! You deserve it!
