Day 3 was another day of partying in the playroom. The dollhouse absolutely won her heart. She played with the thing for three hours straight. She is such a doggone GIRL!!! It makes me smile every day at least a few times.
The tradgedy of the day was the dressing changes on all her pin sites where her lengthening device goes into her skin. She has ten posts or so that have to be kept clean and protected. She howled at the moon while the change took place. The nurse thought Hannah might be uncomfortable, but the degree of Hannah's panic had the poor nurse backing out of our room when she was done saying, "I'm drenched in sweat!" And thus starts the daily pin care. I better start drinking more water to compensate for all the sweat loss.
The rest of the day was eerily golden. I kept waiting for the bad part to start. The doctors told me it would probably be the following day when Hannah was weaned off her epidural. I went to sleep fearing.

It is good to hear the ruminations and ramblings again, although it would be nicer to hear ramblings about topics not so heartbreaking. (Not for my sake, but for yours.) You are such a strong woman Jessica I am amazed by you. I just had to say I find our circumstances fairly ironic. Here you have a barbie, doll, dollhouse loving girl and my girl is a soccer loving, mom buy me a Under Armour shirt, I'm going to join track in middle school kind of girl! Hope all goes well for Hannah's treatment and that she makes great progress.
